Arpsville School District # 109
.
When school opened in 1914 the school building was not yet ready and classes were held in the Yager home. The first teacher was Mytle Clark. A few months later the school construction was completed at SE13-44-16-W2 on land owned by Herman Arps. The school was named Arpsville.
A new two room school was constructed in 1928 to accommodate an increase in enrolment. The original school became the teacherage. Arpsville then became a grade one to twelve school. Many students from surrounding districts attended high school at Arpsville. This was very much appreciated, during the depression years of the 1930s, as the tuition fees charged to out of district students was low and students could live at home and travel a relatively short distance to school.
During some years high school classes were small. Jack Mann recalls graduating in 1946 in a class with only three students.
The school was closed in 1963 and the school district was divided between the Tisdale and Melfort School Units.
