.
The first organizational meeting for the purpose of forming a new school was May 15, 1919. The school was located in the RM of Connaught at NE 32-47-15-W2. The school name was chosen by Mrs. Joy Pearson after a beautiful place in Wales. It is believed that Riverstone School was in operation in the fall of 1919, but the first record of teachers shows that Miss Mildred McIntyre was hired in April, 1920. Children living outside the school district were charged 5 cents per day to attend the school. In 1925 the district board agreed to pay $150.00 per year for each student who wished to attend high school in Ridgedale. In 1945 the teacherage was moved to the school site.

The school was closed temporarily in 1953-54 because of low enrolment and the students were bussed to Ridgdale or Henderson. It reopened in the fall of 1954 only to close again in 1959. After Riverstone School was closed, it was moved to Ridgedale to be used as an extra classroom. When it was no longer needed in Ridgedale it was put up for tender and bought by Maisie Parbst for display and storage of her antique collection. The last teacher at Riverstone School was Edith Barber.
